Frequently Asked Questions: 3D/4D Ultrasound with HDlive™

Thinking of booking a 3D/4D Ultrasound? This remarkable experience gives moms the ability to see their baby's facial features, reveal their gender upon request, and create a connection before they give birth. But with anything else that comes along with being pregnant, there are tons of questions that come up when considering a 3D/4D Ultrasound! Here are just a few...

1. Will my insurance cover my 3D/4D Ultrasound?

Since 3D/4D Ultrasounds are not considered a diagnostic scan and are meant to be enjoyed as a fun, bonding experience, insurances will not cover the cost of these sessions. The charge for a 3D/4D Ultrasound is a personal cost to patient, payable at the time of their visit.

2. What is the difference between 3D & 4D?

What's different between the two is that 3D ultrasounds create a three-dimensional still image of your baby, while 4D ultrasound creates a live video effect, like a movie allowing you can watch your baby smile, yawn, wiggle and many other precious movements you otherwise would not see. Both 3D and 4D allows you to see your baby in vivid detail and both are included with your session!

3. When is the best time for a 3D/4D Ultrasound?

Most medical professionals and Ultrasound Technicians agree conducting a 3D/4D Ultrasound between approximately 24 and 34 weeks of pregnancy gives the best chances of producing stunning photos and footage of your pregnancy. During this 24-34 week window,  baby will have developed enough to view them in in life-like detail.

4. How many guests can I bring to my Ultrasound?

At this time we currently allow 1 additional guest to join in the fun of a 3D/4D Ultrasound experience. If you have children and are wanting to them to meet their baby sibling, we allow a maximum of 2 children to be present with mom, but no additional adult guest to ensure our lobby and ultrasound studio remains minimally occupied.

5. Do I need to be a patient of Bella Women's Care to be seen?

Great news - you do not need to be our patient to have a 3D/4D Ultrasound session with us! Expecting mothers who are recieving their prenatal care with another facility may schedule their 3D/4D Ultrasound with us if they are between 24-34 weeks of a non high-risk pregnancy, or just want an extra sneek peak of baby!

6. How much does it cost and what's included?

A 3D/4D Ultrasound session is $50.00 for current patients, and $65 for non-patients. This includes the 30 minute session on our oversized HD flatscreen tv, a super cute, high quality diaper bag filled with newborn essentials like diapers, wipes, emergency formula, prenatal vitamins, socks, wash cloths, bibs, MUCH more! Plus - Plenty of take home black and white photos, and video footage downloaded to a personal USB.

6. How do I get the BEST 3D pictures of my baby?

Every baby scans differently, resulting in varying quality of photos. This depends on gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother’s condition. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of your baby. Drinking plenty of water before your visit and babys cooperation greatly helps in capturing fantastic photos.

7. Can I personally record my session?

Yes, feel free to video record and take photographs during your session. Simply ask your Ultrasound Technician for the green light to start capturing your baby's footage.

8. If my baby isn't cooperating and it results in poor photos, will I recieve another scan?

At this time we do not offer repeat scans and limit 1 session per $50.00. Our promise to expecting mothers is to make every effort possible to obtain the best images of baby during your 3D/4D Ultrasound experience.
